Emissions from 5.3 million round trips to Thailand
Emissions from 0.9 coal-fired power plants for one year
Gotland county
If forests in Gotland county were allowed to grow old, and undisturbed, they could store the same amount of carbon dioxide as 0.9 coal-fired power plants emit during a year. Or what 0.7 million passenger cars emits during the same time. Or 5.3 million round-trip trips to Thailand. If we keep cutting down trees at our current rate, our forest will never grow really old, and they will never reach the same awesome capacity of storing carbon that is needed to save our climate. Less felling increases the carbon stock in our forests.
